Today in Speaking class we performed our skit, like we were supposed to yesterday, and it went really well, I think. I only recall having messed up once, and it was at a part in the story where my character is getting flustered anyway, so I don't think anyone noticed. In any case, I'm very glad to have that no longer hanging over my head. Now I'm studying for a lesson test in the same class. My grade is a little too close to the B borderline for comfort for me, so I'd like to pull off a high grade one this one. I'm studying a lot, which is a good thing, because there is so much new grammar and vocab on this one! I'm zettai ni isshoukenmei doryokushite ganbaru. (That was a probably terribly ungrammatical and intentionally redundant way to say "definitely going to try my very hardest." At least, that's what I was going for.)
I have zero motivation for anything at this point, other than a strange burst of caring about this particular test. Lately, when I've received homework I've kinda rolled my eyes, stuffed it in a far corner of my binder, and tried to ignore a nagging sense that stress is gathering on the horizon. I just don't want to do it anymore. Of course, I haven't actually not turned something in; I'm still too much of a teacher's pet for that. But darn if it isn't hard to make myself study these days! I just need a break, especially from Japanese. Unfortunately, I have three papers and several tests to go before it's all over.
I've stopped taking notes in psychology class. This isn't as bad as it sounds, because he emails us the powerpoint slides with all the info on them anyway. Plus, he's already given us the essay prompts for the take-home final exam, so I already know what's important for the final and what's not. Plus, at the point that the professor made a serious reference to the Mozart Effect, I decided that most of what I learned in that class was probably rubbish anyway. What ridiculous poppycock! I have very little respect for that class at the moment. But ask me in a few weeks and I'll probably be able to tell you lots of good things about it.
So, tomorrow is Friday, and I still haven't figured out what I'm doing for the weekend. All I know is I need to buy some bread and potstickers at some point tomorrow.

Hang in there!! Just a couple more weeks of end-of-semester, I wanna go home blah's to get through.
p.s. Sorry about the whole "Mozart effect" thing. Some of us psychology types know better. :-)
<3 Dad
No, you don't only complain in these! I promise!
I'm sure you'll do fine with your classes. Only a bit longer till it's all over, right?
I understand not paying attention in classes when the teacher seems to be full of poppycock! I'm also sympathizing with you on the not being motivated to do anything. 18 hours till my next paper is due! ^_~
Goodluck,
Karen
